Thanks for making this forum, Bob is our good friend here in NH. He worked with my late husband at Seabrook Station. We are so devastated over this. Our prayers, thoughts and support are with him. We pray for Doc and Joyce as well as Bob. DeeDee and Dolly's spirits are with them.

I saw this as a post in reply to an article online, and then went and found it on Bob's guestbook. See article here: www.cdispatch.com/news/article.asp?aid=228I will warn you that if you look at the article and all of the comments, there are people getting pretty upset and blaming Bob for being on the road, blaming the truck driver, defending the truck driver, etc. Just be warned - it's getting a little nasty and upsetting. I'm also sure that "Gene" is getting flooded with emails. ******************************* Date: 02/11/2009 Guest: 270 (Reference ID: 1761796) Name: Gene Email Address: (deleted by Sarabz) Where did you meet or see Bob?: at the scene of the accident Comments: Despite protests to the contrary from those who read articles in distant newspapers about the accident, and wish to argue facts of which they do not have personal knowledge, I must say that you can't believe everything that you read in the papers. Let me set Katie and anyone else straight and state for the record. The Macon Beacon reporter is correct as to his description of the locale. There was no hillcrest to limit visibility. There were no 'two trucks running side by side'. I saw the accident occur. I drive a gasoline tanker for a company based in Columbus, MS. At approximately 11:30 cst this morning, I was southbound on US 45, 6.7 miles N. of Scooba, MS, when I came upon Bob. I recognized his rig immediately as I'd seen it this past weekend North of Columbus. I changed lanes left to pass the vehicle. As I checked the right mirror, I observed a T.K. Stanley vehicle changing lanes left to pass Bob also. There was a second T.K. Stanley vehicle following close behind the first. This second vehicle did not change lanes. There occured the impact which blocked the highway for approximately an hour and a half. Two of the beautiful horses were dead at the scene. I cared for Bob until the arrival of emergency medical services. Bob asked about the condition of his horses and of Clementine. I found Clementine and brought her to him until he was being prepared for transport from the scene to Meridian. There was no one at the scene who appeared to be willing to take custody of Clementine. So, I sent my information with Bob to tell him when he recovers where Clementine is. I transported Clementine to Columbus and gave her to my wife who promptly took her to the vet. As of this writing, Clementine is staying at the vet's overnight for observation. The vet did say that for a dog of her advanced years (a woman never discusses her age) she is doing remarkably well given what she's just been through. She was ambulatory and her kidney/bladder funtions appear normal. If things progress as well in the morning, she'll get a bath and much T.L.C. until she can be reunited with Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and for his speedy recovery.

Thanks for the updates. Have you heard any recent information on Bob's condition? How bad are Doc & Joyce scuffed up?
I had a poodle that lived to be 15. They are very sensitive dogs and get very nervous when something like this happens. I hope Clemetine recovers from her terrible ordeal.

According to the vet tech Doc and Joyce are doing well, Clemintine I believe will be united with one of Bob's family members shortly and Bob is out of surgery and reported stable.

Thanks for the update. This tragedy is far reaching. My heart is broken, I am really quite worthless today. I, like everyone else, am anxiously waiting to hear that Bob is out of danger. So glad Doc, Joyce, and Clementine will be there to greet Bob. The joy this group have given me, I did not know I needed so much. There happiness is in my dreams. Thanks to those of you able to keep us posted, and my most sincere heart goes out to all of you close to Bob and his friends. I only knew him through his web site, and I feel pretty broken. Peace Debbie

I have been on the internet all day looking at and for info on Bob and his crew!!Think we all have been traveling with him in spirit even tho a lot of us have never met him. We have gotten to know him and following his dream with him. God bless and help him with his recovery. With the way the pix look, God must've pulled him out of the way. All these dissenters who are saying he shouldnt have been on the rd and ones blaming the truck driver need to take a step back. Bob had a God-Given right to be there and the trucker couldnt stop in time. Anyone who drives a rig or even pulls a horse trailor knows how hard it is to shut it down. Hate to imagine how he feels. They need to put their energy into praying for Bob and the trucker. Just so thankful Bob is hanging in there. Sure had a lot of people stop and spend the day with him today. God Bless,Bob and know that we are all with you!

As a truck driver myself, I do partially blame the truck driver. Being at the end of the line of trucks gave him plenty of opportunity to slow down or move over to the left lane like the others did. He chose not too! When I am driving, if I see trucks ahead of me moving over typically there is a reason. I follow suit and slow down. HE HIT BOB AT 70+ MILES PER HOUR!! That is unacceptable.

I agree, it was a gross judgement error but not in any way deliberate, just sadly a bad accident, I read on the other news articles where they say Bob shouldn't have been on the road blah blah blah.... and I called Chuck Edwards, and also reseached and there are no laws pertaining to Bob being where he was as illegal, and he had all the proper equipment and lights to be where ge was so yes the trucker really screwed up, but at no point do i feel it was an act of purpose, just poor judgement that cause traigity, one that the driver will live with forever, and hopfully accept his actions where his responsibility.

Has anyone heard any news from the family lately about Bob? Last I really heard anything was last night. I have read the papers, etc.
I sat with Bob and those beautiful horses last Friday and fed and watered them for him. They were amazing, I fell in love with them all, especially Dolly. She would look in your eyes as if she knew what you were saying to her. I told her I loved her and she just stared at me.
I am so happy I took pictues.
Clementine is a doll also.
Get well soon Bob, hugs and love, Ann
