My thoughts: Pray, and continue to be there for Bob and his family in the weeks and months ahead. In my experience anytime a tragedy occurs many folks rush in and sometimes haven't a clue what to do. Thanks to Lauren for setting up this forum so we may discuss options. I would encourage anyone of a particular faith to try to contact a church in Meridian and ask for help. sounds like the family needs that. For any others, since Bob is a veteran; I would encourage you to visit www.adoptasoldier.comand adopt a soldier for Bob. I beleive he would like that. DocSara

I have located the number for an Episcopal Church in Meridian via an internet Search. I will call them in the AM and ask the Priest to go by and Pray w/ for Bob. I will also ask the Priest if anyone in his parrish might be available to sit w/ Bob since his sister Cathy needs to get back to NC.

Doc Sara - You are so right. Adopt a Soldier is one of Bob's favorite opportunities to share. While enjoying corresponding with his "soldiers", he took it up a step and sent packages chock full of goodies, DVDs & CDs twice a month. Good call Doc.

Thanks, I did not know that Bob supported adopt a soldier.
Makes sense though, understanding what a caring sharing giving indiviual he seems to be.
My fiance and I have just adopted soldiers. We thought it would be a good way to help in Bob's honor.
I spoke w/ the church secretary at St. Paul's today. Fr. Croc was o/o the office. I got his email and requested his parish's assistance in helping Bob and his family in any way possible. Most importantly, placing him on the prayer list. He will be prayed for by name at all their weekly services.
I think it should help to get more locals involved since most of us are a distance from Meridian.
Bob depended on the kindness of strangers for his journey thus far. No reason to stop now.
